About Colin Parker
London born in 1943, I spent most of my working life in the aviation industry. As Senior Illustrator at Rolls-Royce, UK, I was responsible for creating many of the air brush colour cutaways of the aero engines designed and built by the company.
Apart from aviation I have always been a “car nut”, going to race meetings at Brands Hatch and Silverstone in the UK where I managed to pick up many commissions, not only cars, but landscapes too.
I have been heavily influenced by the foremost aviation artist, the late Frank Wootton OBE, FAGAvA, and like him I try to represent aircraft in action with the perception of clouds and atmosphere as seen from the pilot’s point of view. My favoured medium is acrylic.
I am a member of the Australian Society of Aviation Artists (ASAA) and Overseas Friend of the Guild of Aviation Artists, UK (GAvA).
